Tove Alexandersson from Sweden had an amazing race in Ylläs. She was three minutes faster than the next athlete, Mariya Kechkina from Russia. Sonja Mörsky, who had a difficult last season, is now back in the business and took the third place in women’s middle distance competition.
Russian athlete Andrey Lamov was leading almost from the very beginning and thought that he made good route choices. Lamov was over one minute faster than the second athlete Stanimir Belomazhev from Bulgaria. Swedish athlete Erik Rost, who was not particularly satisfied to his performance, was third.
In overall many athletes described the competition as a tough one with tricky route choices.
