Time difference between top six athletes in women’s sprint was 18 seconds, so completion was tight as it’s often the case in sprint distances. Russian athletes Tatyana Oborinaand Mariya Kechkina had good races and they took the first and the second place. Milka Reponen from Finland was third.
Seconds really mattered also in men’s competition. Time difference between top three athletes was just 2 seconds. Ulrik Nordberg from Sweden was first, Stanimir Belomazhevsecond and Russian athlete Eduard Khrennikov third.
